Cookies
Like many websites, we use cookies, which are best understood as small files that websites and other online services
use to store information on the users' own computers. And like many websites, our websites contain third party
components that use cookies as well. Because of this, these third parties are technically able to relate your visit to our
website(s) to visits your made to other websites (it is good to point out that we can not).
We ourselves may store the following cookies. These so called first party cookies can not be read by other websites:
-
cc_ineu - Stores whether we identified you as 'EU' citizen (based on IP address) and thus need to give
explicit consent before enabling third parties to store cookies.
-
cc_necessary - Stores whether you have given explicit consent for cookie storage (EU only)
-
ci_session - This is a so called 'session' cookie that we use to make a 'coherent' experience of your current
(and future) visit(s) to our website. The cookie itself contains a unique (random) session ID, your IP address,
the 120 characters of the browser data string and the time of your last acitivity.
On our server we may store extra data in relation to this session, such as whether you are logged in (and as who)
and the language you selected. Without cookies you would have had to provide your username and password
every time you click a link.
Furthermore, we have third party components on our website that store their own cookies. These are so called third party
cookies. Note that we do not have access to these cookies. The following components we use may result in third party cookies:
-

much you like our website. See here for more information
about third party cookies and the like button.

are already logged in to Facebook, and you previously authorized our website, Facebook tells us who you are and

here for more information.
-
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to get more insight into how our websites are used. We only see
aggregated or anonymized data. Google Analytics tries link all activity of each vistor together (within a session and between sessions),
so we get (again, aggregated or anoynimzed) insight into how many pages the average user vists and how often people
re-visit our site. This is facilitated by cookies. See here for more information.
-
Google AdSense. We use Google AdSense to serve you advertisements, this enables us, for instance, to pay for our servers, maintenance,
and ongoing development. These ads can be personalized to you. This is facilitated by cookies. See
here for more information. Note that we do not
have acces to these cookies, nor do we know what actual ad Google serves you.
Ownership changes
We may transfer your information to a third party if we or any of our affiliates
are involved in a transfer or all or part of our business or assets (e.g., a
sale, merger, dissolution, liquidation or reorganization) or are taking steps
in anticipation of such a transaction (e.g., participating in due diligence).
Updates to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time-to-time, particularly as technology changes. You can always check this page for the latest version.
